The Saturday after Thanksgiving is the ONE day a year that our small businesses really do take center stage! We would encourage you to Shop Local and we’re going to give you plenty of reasons to do so. Shop Definition Industries Inc at 411 Lake Street for custom “live” design for Christmas Jammie tees from 10 am-5 pm. After 5, join them for some live music in the shop.
artspace shreveport at 708 Texas Street is the location of HOLIDAZE from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be one-of-a-kind gifts created by 26 Northwest Louisiana Artists,and new jewelry designs at giftspace. The Holidaze BAZAAR is located downstairs in FUNSPACE & will be filled with art, holiday gifts and specialty items from local artists and your family can enjoy “make and take” holiday crafts while snacking on sweet treats during this special Saturday HOLIDAZE opening event. Live Entertainment will kick off the “Songs and Sounds of the Season.”
Bon Temps Coffee Bar in the Red River District under the Texas Street Bridge is offering 25% off the ENTIRE MENU exclusive of alcoholic beverages util 6 pm on Small Business Saturday. (This will be a great day to go check out their brand new food menu as well as trying a tasty new coffee or hot chocolate drink! )

The Red River District will be hosting the Acton Children’s Business Fair from 10 am-4 pm. Thirty children from ages 6-14 will be staffing booths to show off their business concepts and sell goods. They will be judged and winners will be announced in the afternoon. SANTA will be on the stage for pictures from 10 am- 2 pm and the giant Red River Tree Lighting will take place at 5 pm.
Louisiana Specialty Gifts in the Red River District, 10 am- 6 pm, will feature a FREE pick a pearl with any $25 or more purchase. (Limit one per family.) The first 20 customers with a purchase of $25 or more will also receive a free Louisiana-themed roll of gift wrap. While there, enjoy locally-made tasty treats and coffee while supplies last.
